# GSK Security Lodge. Parklex facade package. Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Dmitro Development delivered the facade package on GSK's new security and visitor lodge: Parklex Prodema timber-faced cladding and the rainscreen behind it.

The lodge from the vehicle approach: timber-faced panels and vertical fins under the curved canopy, with the glazed GSK entrance at its centre.

The completed GSK Security Lodge at the Medicines Research Centre on Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage, seen from the vehicle approach. A deep curved canopy with a dark metal roof edge shelters timber-faced cladding, vertical fins and a glazed, GSK-branded entrance reached by ramped paths and guardrails. Dmitro Development delivered the facade package for Highline Contractors: Parklex Prodema timber-faced HPL cladding on a Helping Hand support system, with insulation, fire barriers, pro clima membranes, flashings, copings and cills.

The lodge is the main security and visitor entrance to GSK's Medicines Research Centre on Gunnels Wood Road, replacing the former facility near the principal entrance.

## The rainscreen, from carrier to cill.

- pro clima weatherproofing and vapour-control membranes
- Flashings, copings and window cills

The package was coordinated around the entrance glazing, the openings, the roof edges and each change in the facade's geometry, with flashings, copings and cills closing every edge. The living wall and the landscaping were not part of our package.

## GSK's new front door in Stevenage.

Stevenage Borough Council approved the lodge in May 2023. Moving the security and visitor entrance onto retained GSK land was part of the enabling strategy for redeveloping the adjoining land as a life-sciences campus.
